Designed specifically for the flatbed wrecker industry or other applications where you frequently need to reach up to work on your truck, this heavy-duty Sturdy-Lite tool box – also known as a Wrecker Box – is built to make accessing your trailer simple. Designed to mount under your trailer, this tool box has a single drop-down door that’s load-rated so you can stand on it.

The lid is held up by high-strength cables, which have two benefits over the standard chain: they are quieter, and they won’t catch on your tools.

Sturdy-Lite Semi Trailer Tool Box Construction

To ensure your tool box can handle the demands of the road, Sturdy-Lite uses a .125″ thick high-strength premium aluminum alloy for the box construction. For maximum consistency and optimal cohesion on all welds, the sections are created using CNC machining with laser cutting and all welding is done by an AWS-certified welder. The corners are welded and reinforced for a heavy-duty product that will last.

The drop-down door is perfect for lower trailers (like a step deck) and applications where a curb or other obstacle is in the way – unlike double doors, you will still be able to open this box and access your tools.

The 48″ width is less popular than the 60″, but is still large enough to hold all of the most common products: Winch bars, a fifth wheel pin puller, rubber tarp straps, winch straps, and extra oil / other fluids.
