Compared to a single door tool box, the double-door design has two doors that swing out instead of drop down, as well as a heavier-duty lock. The heavy-duty lock rod opens exactly like a trailer door and can be padlocked for theft prevention, making it safer than the locking T-handle that’s standard on single door models. The swinging doors will make noise if left open, alerting you to the problem, and could even swing shut!
To ensure your tool box can handle the demands of the road, Sturdy-Lite uses a .125″ thick high-strength premium aluminum alloy for the box construction. For maximum consistency and optimal cohesion on all welds, the sections are created using CNC machining with laser cutting and all welding is done by an AWS-certified welder. The corners are welded and reinforced for a heavy-duty product that will last.
The lock rod and high-quality strap hinges are both made from stainless steel for added corrosion-resistance.
